I'm going mental..
In the last 24 hours I went from zero to hero when all my project hardware was working perfectly and I made tremendous progress on my experiments and thesis, which my examiner gracefully allowed a deadline extension.
Today I thought I could finally wrap things up at this stage and move on towards system integration. Was happily doing my soldering and programming when voila, suddenly everything went haywire. Hardware started giving me erratic readings, and the entire system started sending weird and inaccurate data.
Cant pinpoint the problem. I stoned for quite a while. And my project mate reminded me that my 40% project was due in 10 days and I haven't done anything. Got a volcabulary test on Monday which is so gonna eat me up. Got a menu to design. Got a thesis to write.
I'm gettin' pwned. My nerves aren't made for this. If there're any higher powers up there, I could sure use some help now..
Help.
If I have seen farther, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants
Makes for a really interesting read, and maybe a more elegant understanding of the world and the heavens through the precision of mathematical proof. Since I have nowhere to go after graduation (if I graduate), I might as well beef up on my geek knowledge so that I may better explain the world around me. And ensure I bore whoever talks to me at any cocktail party I get invited to.
Hell week cometh. 100% hair loss guaranteed. 0% sanity.
All I need is someone whom I can share my life with.
Been searching for so long, I'm tired and I think I should stop now. And cherish even more the people whom I have around me.
So if there's anyone who cares enough, come sit beside me for a while. We can watch the world go by.
First time performing a song for anyone. Could have done better if not for my nervous butter-fingers but it was quite a good experience. It's a really nice feeling hanging out with the right friends, and time just flies right by.
Tried the C&C3 demo. It kicks ass big-time! The interface and in-game cut scenes are awesome. Gameplay is acceptable, but it's the movies which really bowled me over.
After that, when I settled down to do my project, I got a huge fright when my project equipment bailed out on me. After trying to tweak it for 2 hours i finally gave up in disbelief and tried to go to sleep. Didn't work. Spent the entire night thinking of whether this gadget is gonna cost me my graduation, and another undergraduate year. :(
It's gettin' mental. I have no choice now but to believe in miracles, because I'll need to create one before all this is over.
In any case, something is brewing at Munchie Monkey. Look out for it.
Dear friend told me today that I looked pale and zombie-fied..been hearing a lot of that these days. Skipped breakfast to attend 3 hours of lectures only to keep dozing off. Feelin' dumb.
It's just Tuesday and I already feel exhausted. There're so many, many things to do, deadlines are strangling me..and the amount of work just keeps increasing. In computer engineering terms, this is called 'livelock'. Can barely breathe.
Maybe the weight of things is really dragging me down, or perhaps it's age.
Really looking forward to windin' down, chillin' and havin' a good rest.
Bedtime Bear stays up nights.
He's the special bear who helps people get a good night's sleep and makes sure that they have sweet dreams. There's no better bear buddy for a goodnight hug. Bedtime has a symbol that says what he's all about—a sleepy-faced moon.

And off I go now showing my tummy to everyone to make them sleep. Hugs!

After trying countless times to rally friends to go travelling this summer, I have decided to just join NUS Rovers for their series of exciting (and cheap!) trips closer to home.
1. PADI Open Water Dive Course
10 & 11 May (theory sessions 230 pm @ NUS)
14 May (pool session 10 am @ Singapore Teachers Union)
15-17
May (Tioman Island)
[Prices
inclusive of usage of all dive equipment, course materials and certification]

2. Berkelah Waterfalls 3D2N
Back
by popular demand, this is a must for water-babies. Play in the river, trek
your way up the rocks to breathtaking waterfalls and camp out under the stars.
Grab some pals and join in the fun!
Date: 18-20 May 07
3. Rinjani 8D7N
Mt. Rinjani is the
second highest volcanic peak in Indonesia,
part of the celebrated Pacific Ring of Fire. The trip will comprise
of a 4D3N climb on volcanic soil with camping out for 3 nights, visiting the
scenic Segara Anak lake and popping in the hot springs to soothe the sore muscles. End
off your trek with a visit to nearby Bali for
rest and recreation. Definitely a must try for trekkers with an eye for nature
and wonderful sceneries!
Date: 25
May-1 Jun 07
4. Negara Expedition 5D4N
Spanning Kuala Lumpur,
Pahang and Terengganu, Taman Negara, declared as Malaysia's national park since
1938, is no ordinary nature reserve! Step into Taman Negara and you'll be
walking in a forest that is millions of years old. Whether you choose to
explore on foot or on a boat, you're sure to find sights to take your breath
away.
Date: 6-10 Jun 07
The benefits of such an itinerary:
- CHEAP!! (compared to air tickets anywhere)
- NO NEED TO PLAN! (for someone who has backpacked across 14 countries in Europe this comes as a huge relief!)
- Happening program (I think the Rovers should be happening enough, judging from one of them whom I know)
- Get a tan (after so much hiking I'll be pretty fit..and tanned..and in love with Mother Nature)
- Learn new skills (diving, climbing volcanoes, feeding mosquitoes and leeches)
- Explore the region (Bali, Tioman, Malaysia)
- Did I mention I was short on cash?
Disadvantages:
- Too much sunburn? Gotta buy Aloe Vera!
- Being the oldest in the entire group (hope my bones dunt get cranky)
- Feed mosquitoes
- Not enough space in my camera memory card
So there! I'm pretty much set on going on these trips. Looking for pals to go with me. Anyone! Please let me know!
~ cant wait! :)
True friends are those who care enough to tell you what you don't want to hear.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance
I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances, but they're worth takin'
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin'
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out, reconsider
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance,
I hope you dance
You are the best thing that ever happened to me and from the bottom of my heart I wish you happiness and bliss
